Local business love: Crossroads Pet & Garden
Local business love: Crossroads Pet & Garden
If you’re local to Tighnabruaich (or you’re passing through Millhouse), you’ll know the kind of place I mean when I say: the shop that saves your day. The one you pop into for “just one thing” and come out with exactly what you needed — plus a couple of extras you didn’t realise you were missing.
Crossroads Pet & Garden is that place. A proper wee local gem, run by Tracy, sitting right on the crossroads in Millhouse — part garden centre, part pet supplies, and always genuinely handy.
A small shop (in the best way)
Crossroads describes itself as a small garden centre on the crossroads in Millhouse, and that’s exactly the charm. It’s not overwhelming — it’s well stocked with the things people around here actually use. From garden plants and pots to the basics that keep you going through the seasons, it’s the kind of place you can nip into and get sorted without trekking miles.
Brilliant for pets — including specialist food lines
For pet owners, Crossroads is one of those spots you’re relieved exists locally. Tracy’s shop carries everyday essentials — treats, leads, collars, cat bits, bird feed — but also stocks options that can be harder to find without travelling.
A wee browse never hurts…
One of the nice surprises at Crossroads is that it’s not just practical — there are also gift bits and seasonal finds, so even if you’re only going in for bird seed or compost, it’s worth having a quick look around.
Properly local (and it shows)
What I really like about Crossroads is that it feels genuinely part of the area — not just a shop that happens to be here. Tracy’s built it into the kind of place where you can nip in for what you need, have a quick chat, and leave feeling like you’ve been looked after (even if you only came for bird seed or a bag of compost).
Why we’re featuring Crossroads Pet & Garden on Bite Me Bakes
At Bite Me Bakes, we love shouting about the businesses that make our area feel like home — the places run by people you actually know, where your money stays local, and where you can feel the difference in the welcome you get.
So here’s to Tracy and Crossroads Pet & Garden: for keeping our pets fed, our gardens growing, and for being one of those simple, solid local businesses we’d all miss if it wasn’t there.
If you haven’t popped in yet, next time you’re passing through Millhouse, take a wee detour and have a look.
